Job Description

Position: Assistant Manager – Strategy & Business Planning
Location: Nairobi
Salary: 150-180K 


Our client is a group of companies with interests in various business fields including Imports & Exports, ICT and Logistics. They seek to recruit a competent and well experienced candidate to fill in the role of an Assistant Manager responsible for Strategy and Business Planning.  He/She will be tasked to co-ordinate preparation of the Group’s strategic and business plan in line with its vision.


Key Responsibilities
·        Co-ordinate preparation of the Group’s Annual Performance Contracting targets in line with the performance  
         contracting guidelines, strategic plan and the budget
·        Co-ordinate preparation and review of the subsidiaries work plans and performance contracts to ensure they are 
         aligned to Group’s strategic plan
·        Co-ordinate preparation of the Group’s annual budget and ensure it is linked to the annual work plan, strategic 
         plan and budgeting process
·        Co-ordinate identification and development of Key Performance Indicators and targets for the subsidiaries in 
         consultation with management to guide resource allocation and improve organizational performance
·        Provide guidance in formulation, interpretation and review of the Group’s development planning policies, 
         strategic directions, programmes and projects as per the strategic plan
·        Facilitate capacity building on planning and budgeting in the group

Required Qualifications & Skills
·        Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Project 
         Management, Monitoring and Evaluation or equivalent qualification from a reputable institution
·        A holder of CPA(K) /ACCA or equivalent 
·        A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience particularly in business strategy
·        Be a member of a relevant professional body where applicable
·        Strong numerical and analytical skills as well as keen eye for detail
·        Commercial awareness and ability to understand broader business issues
·        Planning and organizational skills
