Our client is a leading player in the hospitality industry in Tanzania. They operate several base camps across Serengeti and Tarangire National parks providing high end luxury safari experience.
They are looking to hire a highly motivated and results-oriented F & B Manager who will be responsible for managing all F&B operations and for delivering excellent guest experience. The successful candidate will be expected to implement innovative strategies and maintain high standards while playing a pivotal role in driving the success of the F&B department and enhancing overall guest satisfaction.
Role Overview
The primary objective will be to maximize revenue by consistently meeting and exceeding customer expectations, fostering employee engagement as well as maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage all aspects of the Food and Beverage day-to-day operations within budgeted guidelines and to the highest standards
· Responsible for creating, coordinating and implementing the training of staff including the chefs throughout the department.
· Elevate food presentation and culinary experience
· Collaborate with the executive chef to curate and update menus, ensuring alignment where possible with guest preferences and making necessary improvements
· Handle all administrative and planning elements for the department such as, rostering, reporting, packages and promotions to drive revenue and increase exposure as well as stock take and ordering.
· Manage special requests and occasions, out of camp dining
· Create unforgettable experiences for the guests
· Maintain excellent levels of internal and external customer service
· Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue, expenditure, loss and profitability.
· Implement effective inventory management practices to optimize stock levels, minimize waste, pilferage and control costs.
· Identify guests’ needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns
· Set targets, KPI’s, schedules, policies and standard operating procedures
· Comply with all health and safety regulations
· Report to management regarding sales results and productivity
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
· Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management/ Culinary Arts or related field of study
· Atleast 2-3 years’ experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a bush/ lodge/base camp setting.
· Passionate about great food and a solid understanding of beverage programs. Experience in culinary arts is highly desired.
· Demonstrated ability to achieve financial targets, control costs and drive profitability.
· Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
· Up to date with food and beverages trends and best practices
· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
· Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently
· Excellent leadership and team management skills.
· Mastery in delegating multiple tasks
· Demonstrable ability to prepare training material for staff to uphold quality standards
· Guest-oriented and service-minded
