Job Description
Our client is a technology company in Nyeri specializing in software development, business process automation as well as digitization among other services. They seek to hire a HR generalist to oversee HR operations in the company. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with a young dynamic team, keen to detail and is interested in personal development of the company’s staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Liaise with the leadership team to understand and execute the company’s human resource and talent strategy particularly relating to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
• Manage the company’s robust internship program including liaising with selected institutions of higher learning to identify talent to admit into the program and thereafter working with team leaders to nurture the said talent to meet future recruitment needs
• Provide support and guidance to management in interpreting local labour and employment laws and ensuring compliance of the same.
• Ensure company HR policies are adhered to and continually improved to reflect best practices
• Manage the company’s payroll
• In conjunction with management, develop learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
• Spearhead performance management and ensure appraisals are carried out for every employee as per Company policy and follow up on development needs where required.
• Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants while collaborating with the technical management team to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Conduct job analysis and oversee development of job descriptions to facilitate human resource planning, staff recruitment and selection.
• Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the company attracts and retains top talent.
• Keep up with trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resource, talent management, and employment laws.
Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
• Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources Management / Social Sciences
• Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource management or HR certification
• IHRM Membership
• At least 4-6 years’ relevant experience in a similar position
• In-depth knowledge of local labor laws, employment-related laws and regulations as well as HR best practices
• People management and employee relations skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Experience working in a cross-cultural environment will be an added advantage.
